Day 4
Sunday June 7, 1998
We began the day with a Mass said by our own Fr. John, not to be confused with Fr. John Mittelstadt, the resident priest in Tohatchi. After Mass, we returned to the Youth Center to quickly change clothes for a trip to Window Rock (shown below).

The city of Window Rock, Arizona is the capital of the
Navajo Nation. For more info on the Navajo Nation follow the

After that excursion, we were off deep into the mountains on our way to Asaayi Lake. A breathless look at water and greenery, which differed quite a bit from the desert terrain in Tohatchi. This was followed by a (mis)guided tour along infinite mountain backroads..."the trip", which was planned to be an hour and a half, lasted four hours. However, much fun was had by most.
