Day 6
Tuesday June 9, 1998
Rising early this morning, we journeyed to the hogan for Mass and blessings of theTohatchi crosses, which we received as gifts from the people of Tohatchi. After Mass, we worked, returning to the same sites we had worked at the day before.

The Tohatchi Cross was designed and created by a local artist. It was presented to Pope John Paul by the bishop of New Mexico. See picture below:

After a hard day's work, the men set off for the sweat lodge, not knowing what to expect, while the women stayed at the Youth Center for a brief meditation with Richie. After the meditation, the women awaited the men's return while watching When Harry Met Sally.
The men kept quiet about their experience in order not to ruin the experience of the girls, who would have their sweat on Thursday.
